GAME NIGHT FAQ
-
We are a non-profit that provides job training, paid internships and mentorship for youth who have experienced foster care, homelessness or justice system-involvement. We started in Pasadena, and are expanding to Highland Park! We own and operate out of our social enterprise cafe, Rosebud Coffee.
Our second Rosebud Coffee location will be opening at this location this August. In the meantime, we want to use this space to start connecting with our neighbors and create opportunity to build community!
-
These board game nights are open to all of our neighbors! We have curated a selection of light strategy and cooperative board games, like Chameleon, Dixit, Deception, Codenames, Uno, Cards Against Humanity (Family Edition), and more.
If you’ve got a favorite board game you’d like to bring, feel free!
We will provide lemonade and a mocktail each Wednesday. Outside food is welcome.
-
Our goal for these game nights is for us to get to know each other, help neighbors connect, and to have fun! We anticipate starting construction in June, and opening our cafe in August.
-
Another thing we are doing while we wait for the cafe to open is a coffee popup, in collaboration with our partner, Optimist Youth & Family Services. They are letting us use their building at 6956 N Figueroa St. Come by and let our youth interns make you some coffee! Our popup is open Tuesdays-Fridays from 8 am - 1:30 pm.
See you soon, Highland Park!

Rosebud Highland Park Opening in August 2025
For many young interns, Coffee With A Cause is a doorway to a brighter future. For some, like Trinity, it has even sparked a lifelong passion. After completing her internship with us, Trinity was hired by Starbucks, where she now shares her expertise and love for coffee. She has even recently joined our board!
"I was so proud to talk about not only how to make various drinks, but also how the tasting notes hit different parts of the tongue and how to make suggestions for customers' coffee selection," Trinity shared. "It made the difference, and I got the job!"

Rosebud Coffee —A New Community Hub
Rosebud Coffee Highland Park is set to become a neighborhood hotspot where friends gather, share stories, and enjoy exceptional coffee. We are excited to join the vibrant Highland Park community and look forward to hiring local talent to work alongside our youth interns.
Our team is proud to serve amazing espresso and specialty drinks, brewed with beans specially selected and roasted at our flagship Pasadena location. We’ll also feature delicious locally made pastries and a curated menu of food options—each served by our talented, trained baristas with a smile.
At Rosebud, we’re committed to more than just great coffee; we’re committed to creating a space where people come together to make lasting connections today and in the future.

Supporting a Great Cause
100% of Rosebud Coffee’s profits go to funding Coffee With A Cause. Our mission is to provide transitional-aged youth (ages 16-24) who have faced foster care, homelessness, or justice system involvement with a pathway to sustainable employment and long-term careers. Our Job-Readiness Program provides youth with job skill training, paid internships, and mentorship.
90% of job-seeking program graduates secure a job within 3 months—providing the foundation for a brighter future.
We are adding this location to meet the needs of partner organizations further west. By opening a second shop, we can double the number of youth we can serve and you can be a part of their stories of transformation.
